Both the Africa Environment Outlook and the Africa environment information network are initiatives of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN). The side event will also be used to present, (jointly with the Governments of the Seychelles and Mauritius), the results of global international waters assessments conducted for Indian Ocean islands, Pacific Islandsislands, Caribbean islands, and the Caribbean Sea.
